GranFondo - 150km

For riders who want to challenge themselves at their own pace, the GranFondo category is the full 150 km at a self-set pace for recreational to advanced riders.

Alta Classe (GranFondo)

This is the VIP package for the ride that allows you to enjoy the RBC GranFondo Banff in a special way that comes with distinct perks and benefits. No line ups, no hassles, no fuss, but all the fun. This first-class package includes registration plus all of the following benefits:

  • A dedicated lane width for cycling for the entire ride

Important Notes

All event participants must have a valid national park pass. Banff National Park entry fees go towards maintaining the park’s roadways, viewpoints, day use areas and trails – and the information, education, resource protection and public safety services offered by Parks Canada staff. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-deferrable under any circumstances. The course may be changed depending wildlife situations in the park.

Riders 18 years and under must have a "Minor Participation Form" signed by a parent and/or legal guardian in order to participate. Contact [email protected] to request a copy.

Licensed Riders

For those looking to ride the GranFondo among experienced cyclists with the knowledge and experience of riding in a tight peloton. Cyclists who held a UCI license between 2011 and 2015 will be authorized to stage in a designated area for the start of the event.

How do you get authorized for the designated staging area?

Riders who have held a valid UCI road cycling licence in Category 1 through 4 or Masters between 2010 and 2014 will be granted access into a designated staging area. All riders with such a licence and who want to be staged in this designated area will need to show their licence at Package Pickup to receive identification that will grant access to this designated staging area.

RBC GranFondo Banff is proud to support Alberta Bicycle Association by donating 10% of all official event merchandise sales to the Alberta Bicycle Association.  

In addition, any donations made to Alberta Bicycle Association will be matched, dollar for dollar, by RBC Foundation to a maximum of $25,000. Together, we can raise $50,000 to fund programs for child and youth cycling in Alberta.
